LNYDP is excited to announce the first three participants for the 2018 parade.
McNeese State University ‘Cowboy’ Marching Band are from Lake Charles Louisiana, USA, the heart of ‘Cajun Country’. The southern state is proud of its unique food and musical heritage and the band are planning to bring a big slice of Cajun Culture to London on January 1st.
Affectionately known as “The Pride of McNeese”, the marching band includes students from the states of Louisiana and Texas, representing over 30 different academic areas of study. The band is comprised of students enrolled in degrees ranging from music and nursing to business and medicine.
The ‘Marching Orioles’ of Hartford Union High School hail from the northerly state of Wisconsin, USA. They are well traveled within the United States and boast a healthy event portfolio, playing at concerts and parades throughout America.
Hartford Union High School provides a comprehensive high school education to students in grades 9 to 12, and serves approximately 32,600 residents of the city of Hartford and surrounding communities. The music department at HUHS carries a proud tradition of excellence through chamber music, jazz, orchestral study, vocal music, and wind band.
Middletown High School ‘Cavalier’ Marching Band, from Middletown Delaware, USA, aim to showcase the best of their world-class musical talents. This will be the second time the band have performed in London and our great city will be just one of many cities that have seen the Cavaliers perform.
Throughout their history, the Cavaliers have maintained an active schedule of concert and competitive performances. A Tournament of Band Atlantic Coast Championship finalist for the past 10 years, the Cavaliers are one of many successful marching arts programs at the school.
